Hi!

I just got home from going to WW, where I lost a whopping 7.2 lbs this week! We all know that five of it was the hockey junk from last Friday, but still -- I'm very pleased! And I regained my 35-pound sticker, so I'm very happy. Most important, this morning marked something even better: I spent all last week on program, for the first time in months. No cheating. No slip-ups. Program all the way.

And this morning I instituted a new tradition. I left WW, drove one parking lot over, and went to the eastern franchise of my gym (I've only gone to the one uptown before). I wasn't up to taking my co-worker Claudia's cycling class, but I'm going to build up to it.

I walked into the dressing room, and guess who was there? Teensy Cheerleader! We talked for a minute, and I apologized if I embarrassed her the other day at the orientation. I explained that I was just feeling very self-conscious and that when that happens, I tend to talk *way* too much. She said it was fine, no worries, and I felt much better about the whole thing, so that's good.

So I headed to the treadmill and decided to try out the WW 20-minute walk I'd gotten from my walking kit CD. (I put it on my LifeDrive so I could use it "on the go"). I managed to do fifteen minutes of it before I felt I had to stop for a bit. I figured fifteen minutes was more than I did any other day this past week. So I rested, and drank some water, and then went over to the recumbent cycle. I managed five minutes on it -- I started to get dizzy, so I decided to slow down and then stop. So twenty minutes' worth of exercise is still better than anything else I did this week, and my software says it was worth 235 calories (it adjusts for my weight, and I was pedaling the daylights out of that bike), so I'm not complaining. I'm still a bit amazed I got to the gym in the first place!

Today's topic at WW was about exercise. My leader says you get to a point where you love it. I'm skeptical, sweetie, but we'll see what happens. *grin*

Just for the record, my darling niece, Princess Emily, is not a "lil monster". ;)

The Walking Kit has a DVD with aerobic-like workouts, and a CD which has 20- 30- and 40-minute workouts (plus warm-ups and cool-downs). It's music and talking, and isn't overly perky (you don't wind up wanting to choke it). :)

Since you live in a City, have you considered shopping around a few WW meetings to find one that you like better? It sure isn't fun to attend a meeting where you are not happy with the service.
