And I just keep learning ...

So, I'm looking at the exercise planner in my Weight-By-Date Pro software and I notice that it has two entries for stationary cycling, one for moderate and one for vigorous intensity. And it will adjust the "calories burned" to reflect that fact that I'm heavier than the 150 pound standard. Fabulous! Just one question, though. When does light become moderate, and when does moderate become vigorous activity?

(Man, I love Google.)

According to this site, "Moderate activity has been defined as 55 - 69 percent of maximum heart rate (MHR). ACSM defines "hard" exercise at 70 - 89 percent MHR, and "very hard" at 90 percent and above, with 100 percent being maximal exertion."

Well, that definitely clears things up! And, while we're at it, here are a couple of handy links: Heart Rate Training Zones and Target Heart Rate Calculator.

Jim (my exercise bike I may wind up killing because I weigh about 70 lbs. more than his maximum weight) is equipped with a handy heart rate monitor, so once I figure out my resting heart rate, I'll know what to do.

I almost sound like I'm looking forward to this. What the heck has happened to me?
