I'm back.

August 1st marked the two-year anniversary of Workin' with Frank and Jim, and the beginning of my longest continuous weight loss journey. There have been many ups and downs through this, but the most important things are 1) I didn't quit this time, and 2) I'm about 40 lbs lighter than I was at the beginning. Both of those things make this time different than any of the previous efforts, where I would get so far, and then turn around and gain it all back again, plus more. I have regained some, but not nearly the whole thing, not nearly as fast as before, and I still haven't quit. This time, it is different.

This time around, my brain has been a lot more involved in the process, and I've learned a lot. Most of the time, I see food for what it is: a mish-mash of nutrients that the machine I call my body needs in order to keep it running. But I've also learned that there are things that are bigger than me, things that are going to knock me for a loop. As long as I don't quit completely, as long as I keep coming back, I will get there eventually.

In the next few days, I'm going to give the website an overhaul. Nothing too radical (aside from a new link, because I'm moving it) -- just more of an "out with the old, and in with the new". Updating the data there, like the tickers at the left, helps to keep me focused.

And that's the news from here.

Here's to a great NEW YEAR (to the sound of cheezy paper horns blowing and the sight of confetti wafting in the breeze)
