Breakthrough!

Yesterday was an awesome day! I was too busy happy-dancing (and hanging with my sisters and niece and other assorted family members) to post here, but folks, IT'S ON!

I had an awesome week on the weight loss front, so I knew weigh-in was going to be good. But I didn't know just how good! I hopped on that scale and grinned at the results -- down 6.8 pounds this week! -- but the significance didn't hit me until it was pointed out.

"Karen, you haven't weighed this little in a long time. Look ..." And we went over my weight card quickly.

"Yeah," I replied, "I'm thinking it has to be about last November."

Well, after I sat down, I looked. It was last September that I weighed the same as I do now. And then it hit me. That was before my dog went to the Bridge. For a brief moment, a realization washed over me. It was like time was going backwards now, like I was getting back to normal. I can't tell you what a feeling of relief that was.

I am now within eight pounds (or 2-3 weeks) of getting that WW 50-lb medal for my key chain, and about twenty pounds away from hitting "virgin fat". Twenty pounds sounded like a lot, until I realized I'd lost fifteen since the middle of June. I could easily be working on "uncharted territory" by Christmas.

So yesterday was a very good day. We'll forget the fact that I went a little beyond my plan for the family barbecue last night (but I did bring "safe" foods, as did Dr. Munchkin for dessert), and we'll just assume I've had 12 of my flexpoints for the week. As long as I'm committed to program (and I am, or -- let's face it -- I wouldn't be posting right now), one or two things at one meal isn't going to throw me off. Let's get that medal, let's get past 200, let's get to goal!

Life is, as they say, beautiful.
