Points-Free Day #1

Oh, the breakfast.

First of all, I have to tell you that I've gotten myself really well-trained. The first thing I picked up was a container of yogurt and I immediately checked the portion size. Then I put some watermelon and pineapple on my plate, and got some orange juice. It was like I was automatically ticking off fruits/vegetables and milk boxes in my head.

But then I really got into the spirit of the thing. :)

The first thing I spotted was the waffles, so I picked up one of those and sprinkled some sliced almonds (protein) and raspberry sauce on them. Then I found the home-fried potatoes and sausages (more protein). Even though I did go back for seconds, and I have no idea the nutritional info of what I ate, all in all I was very good. A few months ago, I would have loaded up to bursting, and moaned all the way home in the car. Instead, I held back to a reasonable amount and enjoyed every morsel.

I can't begin to tell you how good it tasted. I wasn't hungry most of the rest of the day, and only had a granola bar at suppertime. I know that I shouldn't have gone that long without food, but I think I'm coming down with a bug that was circulating the school last week. But, points-wise, I might not have even gone over my daily limit today. If I did, it's probably not by much. Still, I'll behave myself the rest of the week.

My only regret about my weekend away? I had far too much Diet Pepsi. Out of habit, when I got into the car, I stopped by a store and picked up four 600-ml bottles of it (my old "usual" overnight trip amount). I had a hard time getting to sleep last night, and I suspect I may be in store for a headache tomorrow. But live and learn.
