WW Weigh-In: Week 4 -- 277.2 lbs (2.8 this week; 12 total)

YAY! I got my 10-lb ribbon!!! If you think I'm nuts about stickers, let me assure you -- I like ribbons even better!

This note has to be quick, as my driving instructor is picking me up in about 15 minutes for my 7th-hour test (oh, joy), but I have a couple of things I want to share.

First of all, the school where I teach has four levels, with two flights of stairs between each. Well, I haven't tried going from the bottom to the top yet, but I'm finding I'm less winded in general from climbing the stairs. This is a very good thing! Maybe I'll meet with Jim this week and work on building my cardiovascular skills.

Secondly, I have to tell you about the "wrong pants". I have basically two outfits for substitute teaching. I haven't bothered getting new work clothes for years because "What if I lose weight?". You know, the hope was always there, but the drive wasn't.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I somehow washed the wrong navy pants for Thursday. The ones I pulled out of the dryer were the too-small/too-short ones someone had given me awhile ago. I was totally panicked because I suddenly realized I had nothing to wear, other than what I had worn the day before. In desperation, I pulled on and tried to button the pants. They went together. It wasn't attractive, and I wasn't at all convinced that it was going to hold, since the two buttons on the side looked seriously strained. But the blazer covered the hideous spots, and I didn't have much choice, so I thought I'd give it a shot. (If all else failed, I could always try a stapler.)

Somehow, for some reason, the Fates smiled on me that day, and I made it through. But 16 lbs ago, I definitely would have been toast. And somehow, that's a nice feeling. :)

I am very proud of you!! You are doing great and have inspired me to start watching what I am doing as far as food and exercise. I have decided to start running again and I think I will tag along with you to Parliament Hill! I just hope I can keep up (only 2.78 km so far!).
