Rainy Tuesday

Most of yesterday's two-pound "bobble" is gone now, except for 0.2 of it, so that's good. I figured it wouldn't take long.

Well, I dragged Jim out to a prime position in front of the television yesterday. I took the average resting heart rate (which, if memory serves, was the same as mine anyway), and then figured out target heart rates. I then printed it out, laminated it (yes, I'm serious), and taped it to Jim. I did some stretches, popped new batteries into Jim. and then climbed aboard.

I lasted two minutes and thirty-six seconds.

When I first got Jim in February, I had no problem whatsoever getting my heart rate up to 140 bpm. Not so yesterday. Maybe I didn't keep my hands on the sensors long enough (it kills my back to lean forward and I was fiddling with the settings), but it seemed like the best I could get was 72. So I got mad and got off and stomped upstairs like a pouty child having a hissy fit.

I intend to try again today.
