I think I have an idea why things might have stalled and why they aren't going as quickly (in these beginning stages) as I'd expected.
I have, for the most part, suddenly kicked my 2L-a-day Diet Pepsi habit. I'm down to the cute little 237 mL cans, and only one a day (if I think of it). This momentous change took place during the latter part of last week. (Remember when I was whining about that teeny 1.4 lb. gain? Right around then.)
My theory is that, because caffeine speeds up your metabolism a bit, and because it is also a diuretic, my body has had some serious adjusting to do. I bet my metabolism slowed, just a bit, and I bet that with my increased water intake (3L a day), the body "puffed up" a bit. Looking back on when I finished my last 2L bottle, the timing is pretty much perfect. If that's what did indeed happen, it would make sense that it took the body a little time to readjust (hence the four-day stall), and we should soon be moving forward again. (Was today the beginning of that?)
Interesting theory, I think. Let's see what unfolds, shall we?
